Gnome walk with friends
One of the local suburbs sets up a gnome walk in different city parks. Today’s walk was a small/short one, but just enough for us to get a little fresh air before going to the indoor playground. These kids crack me up!

After talking with the on-call doctor last night, we made a change to Veronica’s pain med. She was able to sleep a little in the early morning. She was up an hour before me and was sitting in her chair. She had a little breakfast and her pain meds. She did some walking in the house. The walking in the house gave her a confidence boost. I asked if she wanted to go for a walk outside. She said yes, and we walked up the block. There was sunshine and Sunday morning traffic. It was a lot to take in. She did really well. She is sitting in the recliner resting now.
Out the door.
Up the block.
Down the block is the way to the diner, we might try to go that way when the sun goes behind the hills.
Veronica slept for more than an hour after the PT and OT appointments. Because the PT was happy with her progress I am allowed to walk with her. We walked “around” the floor twice with a stop in the lounge to do some vestibular exercises, she is now in bed relaxing.
Veronica just had another appointment with the PT. She walked further than all of the other days combined. The PT had her walk without holding onto him or the railing. At first, it was slow going, but she started to get her natural gait back moving her arms as she walked. While on this epic journey, she went up and down a flight of steps! I am so proud of her. The PT also opened the shades in the room completely.
This is where Veronica went on her epic journey. The white door goes to the stairwell where she practiced walking on the steps.
