February break

The Shecklets have been off of school since last Friday. Today we had lunch with Grandma and Grandpa and then went bowling. Fun memories were made!

HBD Nana!

Our family gathered together for birthday dinner (Beef Wellington) to celebrate my mom’s birthday. The meal was amazing, as it is every year and it was great to be able to celebrate this wife/mom/nana who means so much to us 🎂

Penguin party!

Shecklet #3 celebrated the last day of school before Christmas break with a penguin party at school! Kindergartens and two guests were invited to join them. The kids sang songs about penguins and we had breakfast together. ❤️

Christmas tree hunt

Jake took the kids to the Christmas tree farm where Grandma Patti is working for a few weekends this Advent. There was no snow, but plenty of mud! Aunt Kari captured these pictures and sent them to me.

The crew also stopped at a park after tree hunting. Turns out, Jake has a playground with his name on it!

Bday celebration #2

My mom stopped over after her BSF day with a birthday gift (a new, warm scarf.)  We didn’t get to celebrate when we were together at Thanksgiving, so she brought the birthday hat and glasses to me. 🤓

Thanksgiving 2016

We spent Thanksgiving with my parents and family friends today. Everyone had a chance to write what they’re thankful for on a sticky note and we put them on the fridge. So much to be thankful for!

Thanksgiving visitors 2016

Thanks to the crazy contagious/illness fall we had, our KS friends stopped to visit a couple of times during their trip to MN in lieu of staying with us. We always pick right back up where we left off – not something every friendship is able to do. This crazy bunch of kids (plus one from another friend’s family) just keeps growing! Love how they all enjoy one another’s company – just like their parents do.

And of course, here is Shecklet #4 with her godparents.

First day!

Jake started a new job today!  Shecklet #4 wanted a 1st day picture with him before he headed off.  We celebrated with a family dinner and cake!

Contagious…again

This year is the year our house has been contagious with just about every common childhood illness/bug. First it was pink eye. Everyone except for me (so, so thankful I didn’t get it) had it at some point over the course of a month. Then it was hand foot and mouth. Only one (#4) casualty there, but I think it was due to the others having had it when they were younger. Now we have lice. Yuck. And what a pain to get rid of! Laundry, hair treatment, constant checking and a missed day of school for the one who had it. I am praying it stops with one and we don’t all end up passing it around. 😝😷

Fall clean up

The girls were invited to a birthday party this afternoon, so the guys went to Auntie Larissa’s house to help take leaves.
