Popcorn party & Yoda

One of the local movie theaters is selling enormous bags of popcorn. We bought one and had movie night at home.

Shecklet #2 also used his painting skills today to paint Baby Yoda on our deck door window. It turned out great!

Window painting

There’s a window painting project being posted on social media right now so we decided to jump on the bandwagon. (The boys were able to count it as their weekly art assignment.)

Color Me Mine

Time for a little art project as summer winds down. The Shecklets and I each picked out a pottery piece to paint. Shecklet #2 spent nearly 2 hours taping lines in his llama before he could even start painting! We are all looking forward to seeing the finished products – after being fired and glazed with a clear coat.

Shecklet #4’s painted chair

We now have a complete set of chairs for our painted table. Shecklet #4 spent some time creating her masterpiece this afternoon. It was fun watching her creativity grow.

Painting a chair

Four summers ago when I was pregnant with Shecklet #3, when the boys were 2 and 4, I sat in my Eddie Bauer captain’s chair in the driveway of our old house and watched them use their creativity to paint two chairs and a table that we had purchased from Ikea.  It is one of the funnest projects I think they have done.  Maybe I’m a bit biased, but I think they turned out awesome!  And the set is still being used in a multitude of ways.

A few weeks ago, I braved Ikea with all four Shecklets and picked up two more chairs – this time for the girls to paint. Shecklet #3 had her turn today.  (I’ll wait until next summer to give Shecklet #4 her opportunity 🙂 )
