U of MN bball game

Jake and I took Shecklet #3 and Shecklet #4 to a Gopher Women’s basketball game this afternoon. The league the girls played in partnered with the Gophers to offer discounted tickets. The Gophers didn’t end up with a win, but it was still fun to be back in The Barn to watch the game. Afterwards, the girls got to go onto the court and have their picture taken with teammates who attended. We had friends capture a picture for us in our maroon and gold.

The Twin Cities

My mom and I took a trip to the U of M Bookstore today to find Gopher gear.  On our way to campus, we could see downtown from the freeway.  I asked Nolan what city was in the distance.  He responded, “It’s Saint-apolis!”  Jake and I have been telling him about St. Paul and Minneapolis and how they’re Twin Cities.  I guess he decided he’d come up with his own name 🙂

Once we made it to the bookstore, the boys had a blast checking out all of the maroon and gold shirts, hats, balls, and toys.  Anything with Goldy on it made them shout, “Go Gophers!”  Or in Lincoln speak, “Go, Go-Go!”  We received a lot of smiles from the bookstore workers thanks to the fact that class is not in session and the place was pretty quiet – except for our little Gopher fans.

Gophers with ribbons

This is one of those posts that my boys will probably ask me why I did this to them, but it was too funny to not record.  For some reason, we have a gold ribbon that has floated around the house for quite some time.  It has been many things – a belt, a string of xmas lights, a fishing line.  Today, Lincoln finally “asked” for his own ribbon, so I pulled a blue one out of the stash of them I still have from when my mom used to put them in my hair as a kid.  Both boys were playing with their respective ribbons tonight when Nolan asked Jake to tie it around his head.  I think he was asking for more of a bandanna on the forehead look, but both kids ended up with bows in their hair.  Sorry guys, I couldn’t resist posting these.  (I swear Lincoln looks like our friends’ daughter J in the 3rd picture.)
