Sunday fun in the garage

One of the teachers at the kids’ school saw Shecklet #2’s invention and told him she’d like to have one for her house. Jake took the four kids to Menards to buy PVC pipe so #2 could make her one. The other Shecklets took advantage of the empty garage and rode their scooters and balance bike.

Forgiveness

This kid was chosen as Student of the Month for February! The character trait was forgiveness ❀

Winter work

I love seeing the artwork that the kids create at school. Shecklet #3 brought this home today. One of her favorite things to work with are oil pastels.

She also did a recap of her Christmas break.

Migratory bird

Shecklet #2 made a bird last spring for an eco-arts festival his school attended. It has been residing in the kitchen (peeking down from the kitchen cabinets.) Today we needed to make room for the mini houses we display during Advent and Christmas, so Jake and #2 found a new place for the bird to keep watch.

Bartering Fair 2017

Shecklet #3 had fun bartering at school this afternoon. The first graders prepared many items to trade with their friends and parents. To end the day, they got to enjoy snacks that were representative of the ancient Egyptian times.

SPARK tickets

When your oldest child earns a pocketful of SPARK tickets and said child’s pants go through the wash before their pockets are emptied, not only do the pockets turn red, but you find this inside:

Inventors Fair 2017

This kid. With a little help from Papa and his dad, he came up with “The Light-up Chore Sign.” Β He tested it with five families (including ours) and received positive feedback from all of the parents πŸ™‚

Student of the month!

This guy received the Student of the Month award for his class for the month of February. The character trait he was selected for was positive thoughts. I think he was both surprised and excited to be chosen by his teacher.

100th day of K!

Shecklet #3 is celebrating her 100th day of school today and gets to dress up like a 100 year old πŸ™‚
