Sunday Night Science

I’ve been pinning things to a “Fun for Kids” Pinterest board and was able to finally do one of the activities with the kids tonight.  Jake was the photographer, so I also have photo documentation of what we did.  We decided to try making slime. The kids all selected a glitter color and we made 4 batches.

Everyone thought it was one of the coolest things they’ve played with.  Even Shecklet #4 enjoyed it.  So much so, she broke out her hilarious giggle (that Jake was able to capture on video.)

Ninja Shecklets

The boys are off of school this week. In between mini study sessions we are doing things like this:

Cold outside, tropical inside

Friends of ours (Shecklet #4’s godmother and her kids) are in town visiting this week.  We were able to spend several hours with them yesterday afternoon as well as today.  Since Minnesota refuses to give up winter, we ruled out a park gathering and instead opted for the zoo.  We scurried from building to building to see all of the animals and then ended up in the conservatory, where things were quite tropical.

Gymnastics at Grandma’s

During a visit to Grandma & Grandpa’s house, Shecklet #3 discovered her Auntie Stacie’s old gymnastics outfits.  She had so much fun making costume changes and doing “gymnastics moves” on the gym mat that Grandma Patti laid out in the family room.

Target practice

Shecklet #2 is currently all about dart guns and target practice.  Here is today’s arrangement in the basement.

Snuggled in

The girls were using the laundry basket as a boat today, complete with a fresh-from-the-dryer blanket.

Aunt Larissa came over bright and early to watch the Shecklets so Jake and I could go to the Gopher’s homecoming game today.  From the looks of it, I’m pretty sure the kids had a good time.

Minecraft

When left alone in the basement, the boys come up with stuff like this:

They made Minecraft people, snakes, a creeper and a spider. They’ve yet to play the actual game, but they are fully aware of what the characters look like. The way they use their imaginations blows me away almost every day.

Crashed out

This is what happens when you’re up early and the play at the park for two hours!

I can’t imagine that her position was even remotely comfortable.
