Snow day #8…

…And cancellation #9. Yesterday we had another April snowstorm. Almost the same timing to last year’s April storm. School was cancelled as was training for next month’s Family Formation class. I took advantage of the recorded presentation and was able to get the info remotely this month. With coffee in hand ☕️

The boys did a great job helping their dad move the heavy, wet snow. Keeping with tradition, Jake grilled out for dinner on Wednesday night – this time in jeans and bare feet instead of shorts and flip flops.

Today we woke up to a phone cal cancelling school due to water in the building. That made for the kids’ 9th missed day of school his year. 😳 Here’s hoping the rest of the year goes on without any further incidents!

💯 days of school

Big week in K for Shecklet #4. Not only was yesterday Valentine’s Day, but the kids also had a royalty parade throughout the school. #4 wore her sister’s St. Joan of Arc costume and was a royal knight.

Today was the 100th day of school. Kids had a chance to dress like they were 100.

Mr. Popper’s Penguins

I was chosen to chaperone Shecklet #4’s field trip to the Children’s Theatre Company today. The production was well  done and the kids had fun writing on the frosty windows to and from the destination. ❄️🥶❄️

Battle of the Books – take 1 2018

This is the second year Shecklet #2 has participated in the Battle of the Books at school. This year they had 12 teams of kids! The top 4 teams from today’s competition go on to face each other again in April and then the top team goes on to compete against other charter schools. #2’s team ties for second place, so on he goes to read books from the next competition!

Penguin Party 🐧

Shecklet #4 joined her fellow kindergartners and dressed in black and white for her penguin party at school today. The kids sang five songs, showed us their penguin themed artwork, and had a snack. It was so fun to see their hard work on display!

B-ball for Shecklet #3

It was Shecklet #3’s first b-ball game day today! The girls played two games and improved so much between game one and game two! So proud of them!

Studying ancient Rome

Shecklet #1 won a class game today and the prize was getting to wear this:

He is really enjoying middle school and loves his social studies and science classes.
