Contagious…again

This year is the year our house has been contagious with just about every common childhood illness/bug. First it was pink eye. Everyone except for me (so, so thankful I didn’t get it) had it at some point over the course of a month. Then it was hand foot and mouth. Only one (#4) casualty there, but I think it was due to the others having had it when they were younger. Now we have lice. Yuck. And what a pain to get rid of! Laundry, hair treatment, constant checking and a missed day of school for the one who had it. I am praying it stops with one and we don’t all end up passing it around. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ท

Halloween 2016

I took Shecklet #4 to the office to trick or treat and say hi to Papa. After that stop, we headed to the house to see Nana.

Three of the Shecklets wanted to go trick-or-treating this year. #2 decided to stay home, hand out candy, and count kids. It was a drizzly night, but everyone had fun. Shecklet #4 asked when she could go again ๐ŸŽƒ

Time with Aunt Kari

Nana asked Shecklet #1 to join her and Aunt Kari at the stable today. They groomed Rio and Kid before saddling up and riding.

Hit it!

The boys did a skiing version of this in the backyard of our old house. Today, the youngest practiced her “hit it” for next summer at the lake. (Click the square to the right of the video’s blue audio control to get the full view.)

Mill City Museum

I went on a field trip with Shecklet #2 and his 3rd grade class today. We learned a lot about the old flour mill and the river that used to power it. Great field trip!

Bracelet maker

Shecklet #3 broke open the bracelet making kit she received from Uncle Tony, Auntie Kristin and her little cousin(s). The neighbor boy saw the finished product and asked her if she would make one for him ๐Ÿ™‚

Sneak

One of these days I hope to get a photo of this dog with the crayon in his mouth. He is a connoisseur of writing utensils. Pencils, crayons, colored pencils – he has gathered them all and then slowly and quietly makes his way to his bed in the laundry room. I found five crayons there just last night.

2016 Vacation – Day 5

All good things must come to an end, isn’t that how the saying goes? We packed a ton of fun-ness into a few short days and made a ton of fantastic memories. One final one was a visit to the Cathedral Basilica, complete with a tour given by our friend. We had been in the Cathedral before, but this time we had a chance to take in the beauty and detailย of this amazing church.
