Aunt Larissa came over bright and early to watch the Shecklets so Jake and I could go to the Gopher’s homecoming game today.  From the looks of it, I’m pretty sure the kids had a good time.

Outside with Grandma

Grandma Patti came to help us with the kids today so Jake and I could attend conferences at the boys’ school and run a couple of other errands sans the Shecklets.  They played outside for most of the morning and she captured these two great shots:

Spring in her step

Sheckelt #4 is all about shoes.  She absolutely LOVES shoes.

Today, she selected rain boots as her footwear of choice.  I love the expression on her face as she waltzed toward me…it captures her personality to a “T.”

40 Years

Many moons ago, (enough to total 40 years,) two twenty-somethings started their life together as husband and wife. Together, they made a wonderful, loving home in which they raised their two children.

Today, 40 years later, their family has grow five-fold.

Mom & Dad – today we celebrate the commitment you made to one another back on September 7, 1974, and have lived out every day since then.  Thank you for saying “I Do!”

We love you!

Summer growth spurts

The Shecklets served as my test subjects prior to taking couple and family photos at my parents’ house today.  They all grew so much over the summer!

Cracker muncher

Next time I have to get past the screaming that will likely ensue by taking just taking the box of open crackers away from the toddler BEFORE driving home from Nana & Papa’s house.

Yogurt face

Shecklet #4 insists on feeding herself. This is the aftermath of today’s lunch 🙂

Someone loves shoes

Shecklet #4 loves shoes.  (Actually, so does her big sister.)  It’s safe to say that almost every day we find her in the mudroom trying on someone’s shoes.  She’s not particular to anyone’s specific pair.  The bigger, the better, because then she doesn’t have a problem slipping them on!
