Jake took the girls and one of his sisters out west to the Orange Spectacular this evening, complete with a tractor pull. Shecklet #4 even found a chainsaw 😆 (Yes, I know my tractor emoji is John Deere-colored. I apologize to the Allis-Chalmers devotees.)
It’s the middle of summer and we are just getting out for our first ride on the single track trails. It was a beautiful morning. We went to the park with friends and got several miles in before the rain came through. Great way to start a Saturday!
The girls and I volunteered to freshen up four of the bulletin boards at school. I found some templates on the Teachers Pay Teachers website and found inspiration for another idea on Pinterest. I am so excited with how they turned out – and apparently they are getting rave reviews from the staff as well 😊
The boys were tasked with cleaning the rocks in the garden where we planted the new popsicle tree. It was heavy, dirty work but the final result looks beautiful!
This kid has always had to work hard at school. He received a letter in the mail from his principal today telling him that he made the honor roll and earned an academic letter!
This baby was placed in my Walmart cart, so I took that as a hint that it was supposed to find it’s way to our home. I don’t often surprise Jake, but this time I did. I’m not sure he imagined I would actually purchase it for him. Surprise!
Three of the kids helped assemble it.
Then it had to be out to use! (The kids figured out the air fryer pretty quickly.)
We also celebrated Grandpa Dave’s and Aunt Bri’s birthdays.
Shecklet #2 is moving on to high school! Here is his first day pic vs. his last day. He has grown and changed so much over the school year.
Today marked the end of his 9 years at DVA. I can not believe how fast the time went. He is looking forward to a new school, fresh start, and different opportunities.
This evening the school held an 8th grade celebration for the students and their families. Shecklet #2 received two awards – the Presidential Award for academics and the Citizenship Award. Both are accomplishments he should be proud of!
Here he is with a few of the teachers who had an impact on his middle school years as well as his kindergarten teacher (who has kept tabs on him throughout the years 💙.)
