Wax Museum 2018
Shecklet #2 participated in this year’s wax museum at school. He chose James Spangler, who invented the first motorized vacuum. The kids created “buttons” that visitors pushed to “activate” the kids to tell about who they were – complete with costumes and props to look like they were a wax museum statue.
Blue hair for #3
This girl likes color! We dyed the ends of her hair dark blue today. It’s so dark it looks purple (like the last time we dyed it.) but trust me, it’s blue. And so are my hands – just a bit.
Intersession 2018
The big Shecklets are off of school this week (because we opted to not sign them up for intersession classes this year.) Today we had a hand appointment for Shecklet #3, went to the park (until three bus loads of kids showed up,) and then went to MOA to ride some rides and go to the American Girl store.
Catapult War
Shecklet #1 spent time with two of his aunts and one of his (almost) uncles this past weekend. He went to a state park with caves with Kari, Stacie & Nick on Saturday and then spent the night at Kari’s house. On the way to Kari’s, they stopped at Hobby Lobby and he picked out a catapult kit. Upon finishing building (and decorating) the catapults at home this afternoon, #1 and #2 decided to create a game – complete with a board, cards, and rules. I’m amazed (and impressed) by the level of thought and detail they put in to it – without any encouragement or help from anyone else.
