Christmas tree 2018

We visited a a Christmas tree farm tonight and found our family’s tree 🌲 The kids (and the tree farm guy) all thought it was pretty funny that the tree fit inside the truck 😂

Another trip around the sun

I got to celebrate my birthday with this great group of family and friends. Michelle and Angelo hosted us for dinner and an amazingly delicious pumpkin layered cake.

Gift opening (on the 24th) was full of fun surprises from Jake, the kids, my in-laws, and my aunt Deb, who made a cathedral pane lap quilt using pieces that my Grandma Fran had intended to use for quilting, but was unable to due to her failing eyesight.

Pre-Thanksgiving 2018

Our good friends from KC came to visit for a few days. Many laughs and fun memories were made and we captured a couple of pictures to document how much the kids have grown 😊

This kid loves her godparents so much!

Trip to the local ninja gym for some exercise.

Rare mom selfie!

Basketball for Shecklet #4

Three of the four Shecklets are giving basketball a try this season. One of the neighboring cities has a program that introduces kindergarten kids to the sport. For four Saturday mornings, they get to practice dribbling, shooting, and playing some fun games. Shecklet #4 is already asking when she can sign up to play basketball again 🏀

Papa Dale

The Shecklets are blessed to not only have grandparents who they know and love but also great grandparents. Their great grandpa, Papa Dale, died this morning after 91 well-lived years in this earth. We pray Jesus welcomes him to heaven with loving arms. We will miss him, but have great hope that we will see him again.

Pumpkin carving 2018

Only one Shecklet wanted to carve their pumpkin this year. We made cinnamon and sugar flavored seeds per Shecklet #2’s request.

Annual Orchard Visit 2018

We made our annual trip to the orchard where Grandma Patti works every fall. We went through the corn maze, washed apples, ate apples, picked apples, and selected pumpkins. It was a great day!

Turning 8 is great!

Today Shecklet #3 turned 8! She requested a Texas sized donut like her big brother had. Since you only turn 8 once, I surprised her with two donuts that made an “8.” 🍩🍩
