Ash Wednesday 2022
Ashes on our foreheads after attending mass tonight. Let the season of Lent begin.

Jake and I were at the kids’ school today for a conference and checked Shecklet #4’s locker. Totally empty except for this:
Her dad and Uncle Jason were pretty proud.
Once again, my washer has been misbehaving. This time, Jake determined the drain pump was malfunctioning. Thanks to YouTube and Shecklet #1 leading the charge, we figured out how to replace it.
Here’s Shecklet #1 removing the spring on the front of the washer boot. There was a lot to take apart in order to get to the pump!
Old pump is out!
I didn’t take any more pictures. If I had, you would have seen a very frustrated mom trying to put the two springs back on the washer boot. Not an easy task – even with two teenage boys helping! But we persevered and were able to get everything put back together – without extra pieces!
This girl has been so patient! We originally scheduled an appointment to have her ears pierced back in December. Unfortunately, we had colds off and on through January, so we kept putting it off.
Fast forward to today – she finally got her wish!
She was SO brave! The red studs look so good on her!
Our Shecklet #4 had her final single-digit birthday today! She requested mini hamburgers on Hawaiian rolls. We had a few family members over to celebrate with us on the 19th and then she skied on her actual birthday. Year #9 seems to be off to a great start!
Conversation with Shecklet #1 after his latest ortho appointment:
Shecklet #1: “Guess what color I chose [for my bands] this time?”
Me: “Ummmm.”
Shecklet #1: “Purple, because Lent is coming.” π
I love how our faith even impacts ortho choices <3
I never know just how much Iβm going to need when it comes to making dinner. I try to always error on a bit too much. Iβm a fan of leftovers, so extra food means lunch the next day is easy.
I caught up with one of my uncles last week and during our conversation, he asked what I make for dinner (since there are 6 of us to feed.) I told him sheet pan dinners are a favorite of mine since theyβre often so easy to put together.
I made one tonight, so I decided to send him a picture.
