Halloween 2020 🎃

As with almost everything else 2020, Halloween is a bit different this year. The Shecklets did different activities today. (We opted to skip door to door trick-or-treating this year.)

Shecklet #2 did this with his friend:

Shecklet #1 and Shecklet #3 did this with Grandma & Grandpa:

And Shecklet #4 went trunk or treating at our church. Kids typically dress up as a saint for our parish’s annual All Saints Day party. This year, all on her own, #4 said she wanted to be St. Philomena in honor of her baby sister. I may or may not have gotten a little misty-eyed when she told me her plan.

Shecklet #2’s edible animal cell

Science class project for Shecklet #2. It is fun to see the creativity that goes into the kids’ projects. The tasty thing about his cell is that he got to eat it – because it didn’t have to get transported to school. The four Shecklets had a piece for dessert tonight.

Playing “coronavirus”

The girls were playing Barbies after their schoolwork was done this afternoon. When I peeked in the room to see what they were up to, they pointed out one particular Barbie who had an accessory that could be used as a gaiter, skirt, headband, or a mask, “if you’re playing ‘coronavirus,'” as told to me by Shecklet #4.

Surprise Bitmoji Day

Once a week (on Wednesdays) the Shecklets have an independent learning day. Today is a “surprise” one for Shecklet #4, due to a substitute teacher shortage. Her teacher does an awesome job of setting the kids up to be successful and independent. I’ve seen #4 grow in in these areas in huge ways since the beginning of the school year.

This morning, she is working on a spooky house math assignment 🦇🌔⭐️🎃👻🏠

Just like his dad ❄️

It wouldn’t be the start of the snowfall season without a photo of my son wearing flip flops and shorts to shovel the driveway so I could run an errand. Love this crazy kid!

18 years

Today is our golden anniversary.

Married for 18 years on October 18, 2020.

So much has happened during our 18 years together that I can’t adequately put in to words my thoughts about today. I think I need to save that for another day.

Happy purple 💜

I painted the white walls first in the girls’ room and saved the purple for last 😊. Only one coat so far, but it is looking great!
