New park

Jake is in CA for a conference. The Shecklets and I went for a bike ride tonight and stopped to check out a new park.

Once we returned home, we had ice cream cones and Shecklets 1, 3 and 4 drew designs on the driveway.

Mother’s Day 2019

Spending the day with the four Shecklets who call me mom.

They know me well and bought me cake (a cupcake cake, actually) 🧁 as well as the two roses in background on the counter (from the Cherish Life group at church this AM.)

Birthday party with a piñata

We celebrated the birthday of our friends’ daughter this afternoon.  Pizza, cake & ice cream and TWO piñatas! Breaking open the piñata and collecting candy is always a thrill for the kids. Thankfully the weather was nice enough for us to be outside.

FMSC with #4

Shecklets 2, 3, & 4 are participating in track this spring.  However, today’s meet was cancelled due to impending crummy weather.  (It never came our way – the rain and cold stayed to the south.)  The track cancellation meant that I could take Shecklet #4 to FMSC to pack meals with a few other kindergartners from other classrooms at her school.  It was fun to go with just her – and as you can see from the smile on her face, she enjoyed volunteering – just like her siblings do!

Impromptu bowling 🎳

Jake’s brother and sister-in-law are in town for Easter and we were able to schedule a little time with them this evening at Bowlero. The kids played a few games in the arcade afterwards.

Guess I only captured Shecklet #3, but trust me, the others played as well.

Before heading out, we captured the latest aunt & uncle group shot with the Shecklets.

Walk over the river

We took advantage of the sunshine and went to the local dam to see how high the water was and do a little walking.

Missing front tooth

This kid is so full of creativity, spunk, and laughter. She lost her tooth while on a field trip today. The parent chaperone gave her a baggie from her lunch to put it in so it didn’t get lost. She was one proud little girl when she got off the bus this afternoon.

While I’m talking about her, this was a recent art project #4 was able to being home. (Splat the Cat from the book series.)

Budding artist

An over-sized art kit was one of the great presents that Shecklet #4 received for her 6th birthday. She put many of the art supplies to good use today, including the acrylic paints, brushes, and a fresh canvas.

Happy 6th Birthday to #4!

It’s time for the annual “I can’t believe how old she is,” comment that I say every time one of my kids has a birthday. That and “Time goes so fast!” are frequent thoughts I have. Shecklet #4 is 6 today. SIX! She is full of creativity, independence, and kindness. She loves spending time playing with her older siblings yet enjoys time alone as well.
