Fun with friends

Our friends had a birthday party for their two-year-old today. As always, there were lots of laughs and a piñata and new this year were edible bubbles and sack races!

Cousins!

We had a fun group of visitors today – Jake’s aunt, uncle, one cousin and her boys came to see us. The kids had a blast playing with their (great) uncle, who even took them to the little park to help them burn off some energy.

After playing at the park, we had pizza, pretzel jello salad, and chocolate vinegar cake. Jake’s aunt knows my faves 😊

Dad quotes

I’m going to file this under “Things I never imagined I’d hear my husband say.”

“That is applesauce, not mouthwash.”

Spoken to one of the Shecklets at lunch today.

Shecklet #4 is 5!

Love this kid to pieces! She turned 5 years old today and has grown so much! She loves to count, point out letters and numbers, and plays so well on her own and with her siblings. I love to hear her play make believe with Barbies, Shopkins, and Legos. We gave her a teepee for her birthday this year – and she asked to sleep in it tonight 😊

Color changing unicorn

Shecklets 3 and 4 received a package while Jake and I were in California and inside were two unicorn mugs. Their Uncle Jason and Aunt Bri thought they’d enjoy the fun surprise that takes place when you add hot liquid to the mug. It’s so much fun being a girl!

Breakfast Time

Veronica walked over to the recliner this morning and is now eating an egg and cheese omelette.  The pain has subsided a little, but the dizziness isn’t subsiding yet.  She is asking for prayers for the pain, and dizziness.

Christmas Day 2017

After eating French toast for breakfast, we gathered in the living room to open presents. The kids opened their “need” and “read” gifts first and then their “shared” gift. Last came their “want” gift. I think they we’re all pleasantly surprised by what they unwrapped.

The day was spent with just the 6 of us this year.  It was really nice to not have to load everyone up, go out in the cold, and venture back home after bedtime.  Movies, tasty dinner & relaxing at home.  Couldn’t have asked for a nicer day 😊
