First tooth!

Last week we spent time up north with Jake’s family. Little #4 had a hard time napping during the day (unless it was in someone’s arms) and sleeping at night unless it was next to me. We all had a hunch she was teething.

Sure enough, tooth #1 on the bottom has popped through!

(Edited to add that tooth #2 followed a few days after this post.)

Goodbye Uncle Jason!

Jake’s brother, Jason, is embarking on a new adventure. He is moving west to be reunited with his wife after living apart for six months. We stopped over tonight to say goodbye and wish him safe travels. Grandma Patti is going with him on his cross country adventure.

Crafty afternoon

Nana gave the three older Littles wooden paintable crafts to work on. I was going to have them paint on a rainy day, but I figured a muggy/cool/overcast one was close enough. Little #1 painted birds, Little #2 painted dinosaurs and Little #3 painted two picture frames. Tomorrow she will get to add painted stickers to finish them off.

Last Park Day of July 2013

This week’s “Tour of Parks” stop took us to the local nature center.  Little #1 visited here for a school field trip last year and saw how they make maple syrup.

Here are the three older ones by the frog statue made from trash pulled from the Mississippi River.

They had lots of fun playing in the sand and water.

There was also a huge garden where the kids were encouraged to water the flowers, vegetables and herbs.

The kids asked when we can go back again, so we will definitely be adding today’s stop to our “must return” list.

Twins game date night

image

My mom and dad had the three older littles overnight last night. Today when I went to pick them up, my mom offered to keep them PLUS Little #4 while we went to dinner and a Twins game.  A rare date night for us!!

Popsicle Party

image

The kids invited the neighbors for a popsicle party tonight. They made invitations in the shape of popsicles and delivered them last week. Three families were able to join us for frozen treats on a warm Sunday night. It was a great way for the kids to play and get to know each other.

Tour of parks

We have been joining our friends for a weekly tour of parks this summer. Today we had a lovely lunch outside and played at TWO parks – one on each side of the street. As always, the littles had a blast!
