Ingrid’s 1st trip to FL

My baby girl and I had our first girls’ weekend in FL.  We had an early flight out on Friday morning and spent the weekend with Lois & Kathi.  They have been patiently waiting to meet our little miss.  This past weekend was extra special because Lois celebrated her 96th birthday on Saturday.  I’m so happy we were able to be with her on her special day.  She has known me since I was 4 days old and has loved me like a granddaughter.  I am so thankful for her!

No trip to the Sunshine State would be complete without a trip to the beach.  Ingrid wasn’t too fond of the water or the sand.  I’m sure that will change in time.  It was a wonderful weekend spent with fantastic ladies!  I can’t wait to do it again!

Blue footed boobies

While I was in FL, Jake sent me a recap of a conversation he had with the boys on their way to church this morning:

Nolan: “Look at those boobies.  Blue footed boobies.”

Me: “Those are geese.  Blue footed boobies live in the Galapagos Islands.”

Lincoln: “I want to go to Galapagos Islands and see the boobies.”

Nolan: “But we have to wait for mommy to come home.”

Just to give a bit of background, the reason this even came up is because one of the animal magazines the boys get recently featured the Blue Footed Booby.  I can only imagine the restraint it must have taken Jake to keep from busting out laughing during this conversation.  I love my boys!

Change in position

We’re working on sitting up.  So far, Ingrid is able to maintain a vertical position for a few seconds and then she leans forward or topples to the side.  She loves the change in view from laying on her back or tummy.  I can’t believe she’s 6 months old today!  I think time goes much faster when you’ve already got kids running around.  I’m trying to savor each milestone we have with our little girl.  She has been such a gift.  And the novelty still hasn’t worn off.  The boys are simply enamored with her.  It makes my heart smile.
