Standing on the Word of God – 2017

When our parish was first built, parishioners were given the opportunity to write scripture passages on the floor of the sanctuary before the carpet was laid. It was a tangible example of how the people of COSP stand firm on God’s word. The carpet in the church is being replaced again – I heard this is the 3rd time since the church was built. And once again parishioners were invited to write a scripture verse on the floor before the new carpet is installed. Our family took advantage of this awesome opportunity tonight.

Girls day out

Any time Shecklet #4 is only with me, she calls it “girls day out.”  Today she had a day with just Nana.  They ran some errands, found a pair of new shoes, had lunch, and then Nana came to watch the girls at their last swimming lesson for the session. Fun-filled day!

Fridays in June

Three of the Shecklets have Fridays off in June. We got to spend the morning watching some of our favorite boys!

Shecklet #2 let me boost him up into the tree in the backyard and he did some climbing. Brought back memories of climbing trees in the cemetery when we lived on Pine View Drive.

HBD Shecklet #1 – take 3

After our Memorial Day dinner, we celebrated Shecklet #1’s birthday with Nana and Papa. His rollerblade safety gear package is now complete! Tony and Kristin and kids also gave him a circuit kit and Mad Libs – perfect for car trips!

Shecklet #2 also got to open his gift from Tony and Kristin – which he was very excited about!

The kids’ youngest cousin slept through all of the excitement 😴

One egg, two yolks, take two

I was making deviled eggs for part of our Memorial Day dinner at my parents house and found another double yolked egg. Different dozen than the last one, but same farm.

Crafty afternoon

For a short time this afternoon, the Shecklets were busy looking at tutorials and then making three different woven crafts and playing with the sands alive tub. Love to watch their creative juices at work.

Saturday on Loon Lake

We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa at their cabin tonight. We didn’t go swimming (water was chilly!) but we did go for a boat ride, kids fished off the dock, went canoeing, had dinner and made s’mores.

Plymouth Playground

We attempted to go to French Lake Park today, but upon our arrival, found out that it was completely leveled. We were disappointed it was closed, but look forward to what it’s replacement will offer. We did find a consolation park about a mile away and the kids had fun sliding, running, spinning and swinging.

Wax Museum 2017

The fourth graders each researched and presented a short speech on a famous person. Their presentations were given in a “wax museum” in the gym. Each student had a “button” next to them to push which made them start their speech. It was fun to see the creativity in their costumes and mannerisms. Shecklet #1 was Maximilian Kolbe. He did a great job memorizing his speech and said he enjoyed being part of the wax museum.
